You can always add adjustment layers on top of it or perhaps add a coloured layer with different blending modes or apply brush strokes to a layer above to manipulate individual parts in a non destructive way etc

I know, sometimes I do spend a little too long on the setup. I have never totally mastered the best approach. You say that, sometimes a tutorial intro can be about 5 minutes of waffle about the channel and then onto the subject - I continue to ponder how best to do these videos and after about 10,000 or so, you would think I would have sorted it out

To fine tune a selection by using brushes etc as well as perhaps add effects to a selection such as blurring or box blurs etc. I find it easier to modify selections using this than trying with different selection tools. It would, of course, be great if AP added in a select subject or some even better selection tools

Yes, things move on but there is still no spiral tool in Photoshop (there is a spiral tool in affinity photo)

There are so many possible reasons for things to go wrong but if you are using the artistic text tool and hover over the spiral and the cursor changes to 'on path' and then you paste, it should be applied to that spiral. Perhaps try it with a small chunk of text first to get the hang of it and then try it with more text.

You have to go to the history panel and click the left side of any of the entries in there to generate a history state for it to use. I have created a few videos on the undo brush.

I must admit, I am happy with it either way. I always find the end result or the effect hard to show as the pic is often messy on a small thumbnail - to my eyes anyway and I just wanted the title to stand out. Perhaps I shouldn't put the text or just a single word text ??

I have put them back to basic thumbnails and I will see how they go, to be honest, most of the videos that do well are ones in the text + unrelated pic and the ones showing the application, seem to do a lot worse. I have had more success with thumbnails if there is just a solid color thumbnail ... whenever I do research on others approach, they seem to do much better with a strong text based thumbnail.

@@Graphicxtras1 Thanks for listening. I was surprised to hear that the ones without the effect depiction fared better than the ones with. In any case the work is always quite amazing & always interesting.

I have gone back to the original style for now, always experimenting with thumbnails, never totally sure about the ones that stand out. Simple is often the best for thumbnails and sometimes I find the results look interesting but are often just a mess when it comes to a simple clear thumbnail. Also the same with the words, supposedly intrigue and anticipation are supposed to be the best way but I end up often going back to 'how to' ones, which perhaps work best in the long run

I am certain he does not think he is a gormless non entity. He is a well behaved Adobe Stock image ! I will go back to experimenting with my thumbnails as I have for the last 14 odd years ... one day I will actually create a good thumbnail !

Yes, things can be done with screen capture. I would love to see that actually built into the application (such as in Clip Studio paint and others). This video was via Kaleider PC application (free via Whizical) which has infinite options to create videos

Can't say as I don't have that version any more. The gradients can (with 2024) be easily deleted by selecting them one at a time or multiple rows and then right click and delete. I vaguely remember that the preset types option changed quite a few versions ago, just one of those odd updates of Photoshop
